The 1998 Maxximum is made up of 100 cards issued as one series and produced by Upper Deck. Upper Deck acquired the Maxx brand in December 1996. The cards feature the Ionix technology with full bleed color fronts. The cards are very well done. There are a few insert sets to collect like Battle Proven and First Class. One of insert sets is Field Generals, which has 4 level of parallels. They are one, two, three and four Star Generals. One Star Field Generals are numbered to 2000, Two Star Field Generals are die Cut. Three Star Field Generals are die Cut, autographed and numbered to 100. Four Star Field Generals are die Cut, autographed and have 4 stars over the Field General logo on the front of the card.
