Almost everyone sooner or later will get a card signed or will send them through the mail (TTM). Card manufactures put gloss on the cards to give it a nice shinny appearance. While this makes, the card look good it creates a barrier for a magic marker. So how do you remove gloss from trading cards to get a nice, clean autograph? Baby powder and a soft cloth or paper towel is all you need to remove gloss.
It kills me to search on eBay and see all the autographs that are either smeared or blotchy. The short video above shows you how to remove the gloss off trading cards. The ideal solution is to try it on a sample card from the same set, if possible, as it might take one or two tries to get very glossy cards clean.
You can see the before powder and after powder on the left and after powder on the right card.
